Create a Bootable USB Drive and Install Windows 8, 7 or Vista




Want to Install Windows via a Bootable Pen Drive? Follow this Simple Tutorial and lets get started with Windows!




Things you Need:
  1. A working Computer.
  2. USB Drive
    (Depends on File Size but Minimum 4GB for Win7 & Vista, Minimum 8GB for Win8).
  3. Windows Installation Files. (If you Dont have Download Below).

Lets Begin.

Step I:  Backup your USB somewhere as it will get formatted. Open the Command Prompt in 'Run as Adminitrator' mode.
  • Windows XP: Goto Run -> cmd.
  • Windows 7: Search for 'cmd' and Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter.



Step II:  Type "diskpart". Press Enter.




Step III: Type "list disk". Press Enter.
Your USB Device will be listed here. Note the number next to it.




Step IV:  Type "select disk $", replacing with the number you noted in Step III.




Step V:  Type "clean".




Step VI:  Type "create partition primary". Select this partition by typing "select partition 1"
and type "active".




Step VII:  Format partition by typing "format fs=fat32". Wait till process Completes.



Step VIII:  Type "assign". And now type "exit". Done.


You can now Copy the Installation Files of Windows to USB and Boot from it.

Note: Dont Copy the Complete ISO. Extract ISO files with any Image extractor Software like Power ISO and then copy them to USB.

Download Windows 7:  Windows 7 ISO
Download Windows 8: Windows 8 ISO
Download Windows Vista: Windows Vista ISO
